SNAP is pleased to invite members and guests for the opening receptions of Mending Roots by Edward Fu-Chen Juan and Today’s Special by Emerging Artist in Residence Yilu Xing on Saturday, June 24 from 7-9PM. The Opening reception will take place after the 2023 SNAP AGM, from 5-6pm.

Admission is free and by drop in.

Mending Roots is an exhibition by Edward Fu-Chen Juan that reflects his experience as a Taiwanese Canadian artist and an immigrant to Canada. The work explores his connections to his homeland of Taiwan through traditional techniques of printmaking and papermaking using indigenous plants.

Today’s Special, a “kitchen,” opens every Saturday from noon to 2 pm in July at SNAP gallery. Today’s Special brings together Yilu Xing’s passion for connecting with people through food, and creating interactive spaces with prints. This exhibition is an experimental kitchen space for collective culinary discussion and exploration, without the actual edibles. Come during lunch hour to enjoy some of chef Yilu’s homemade dishes (print version). Missed the chef? Help yourself to a boiled egg.

PLEASE NOTE: The gallery will be closed during the day until 5pm to prepare for the AGM and opening reception.
