The Society of Northern Alberta Print Artists (SNAP) is pleased to present the graduating exhibition of the 2012 class of the University of Alberta Printmaking Department. Opening May 26th is “Walking on Walls”, the seventh annual senior print exhibition held at SNAP Gallery. The show is part of a vital ongoing collaboration between SNAP and the Printmaking department at the University of Alberta. The exhibition represents the graduating work of 4th year BFAand BA students in the printmaking program and includes emerging artists Andrew Dizon, Taryn Kneteman, Amanda McKenzie, Ellen Prosko, Brittney Roy, Eva Schneider, Megan Stein and Emily Van Driesum. In addition, graduate students completing the first year of their MFA are also featured; including the work of Amanda Chan, Agata Derda, Alexandra Emberley and Grace Sippy.

Walking on Walls is an exciting and challenging group exhibition that offers a rich variety of visual sensibilities and technical methods. The wide range of conceptual concerns includes themes relating to body, environment, memory, urbanization and home. As result, viewers are rewarded with a diverse, challenging and provocative experience that raises questions and brings pleasure and contemplation. Behind all the work in this exhibition there’s the spirit of sensitive young artists, hard work, and a celebration of life and imagination.

Opening Reception: April 24, 2012 7–10 pm.

SNAP is happy to provide this programming at no cost to participants.
