Nicholas Hertz Artist in Residence 2021/2022 Nicholas Hertz (he/they) holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Alberta. Through print media, performance and writing he explores the objectification of the queer body and the anthropomorphizing of environments. He engages with the liminal space between the seen and unseen: between the body and space. Driven by a misuse of space and image; the work attempts to deconstruct the viewer’s hierarchies of understanding. His work has been featured in many exhibitions both locally and internationally, including Seeking the Periphery at the Paul H. Cocker Gallery At Ryerson University (Toronto).
