Artist Statement

In Hindsight explores the act of repeatedly interrogating memory from different perspectives in search of something you hope is not there. Through iterative manipulations of silkscreen works, the exhibition reflects a compulsive need to audit your past - to verify your history when your future is thrown in an unexpected direction.

About the Artist

Victoria Day is a half-Korean artist whose interdisciplinary practice spans printmaking, murals, ceramics, drawing, paper craft, and hand-papermaking. 

Day recently held solo exhibitions at the Open Studio Main Gallery in Toronto and Martha Street Studio in Winnipeg, and attended residencies at the Women’s Studio Workshop in New York and Kala Art Institute in California. Her work has garnered support from the Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council, and Canada Council for the Arts, and can be found in the TD Bank Art Collection. Day prints out of Open Studio where she currently serves on the Board of Directors.
