SNAP is pleased to present A Night Garden, featuring new work by Noelle Wharton-Ayer. The exhibition runs from October 10 – November 7, 2026, at SNAP Gallery.

Artist Statement:

Inspired by spaces of rest and dreaming, A Night Garden proposes an exploration of speculative botanical environments through different collage processes, integrating elements of alternative photography, digital photomontage and drawing. Central to the exhibition is the use of photosensitive papers used to create images through photogram techniques and plant-based photochemistry.

Bio:

Noelle Wharton-Ayer is a multi-disciplinary artist currently living in Quebec City. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in visual arts from York University and a Master’s degree in visual arts from Laval University. Her work has been presented in group and solo exhibitions in Canada and Europe. Since 2019, Noelle has worked as a freelance community arts practitioner in the Quebec City region. Upcoming collective exhibitions include NightFall at the Robert Mclaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, Ontario in the fall of 2026, and the collaborative project Terre et Mer at the Museum of Rimouski with artist Audrée Demers-Roberge in the fall of 2027.
