Artist Kate Baillies is excited to return to SNAP to share more tips and methods of working with B.I.G. (Baldwin Intaglio Ground). As the new formula of B.I.G. is VOC-free, it is an even safer alternative to traditional asphaltum-solvent-based etching grounds. During this workshop, participants will discover the versatility of working with this acid resist by creating line, tone and texture on copper plates. The two weekends offer more time to dive into the etching processes, as well as explore image potential in printing. Some previous experience with etching is recommended but not required.
