Etching:Etching refers to an intaglio based process where an acid resistant material or ground like ashphaltum is applied to a metal plate.
The ground is then selectively removed, and the plate is etched in an acidic suspension to create shallow recesses. Those recesses hold ink, and when printed help to create the image.
