Collagraph: A process whereby materials are glued to a support surface, inked and printed in intaglio or relief.
Each material holds ink in a different way, and when inked and printed, hold a different value. Smooth materials like dried glue, or tinfoil hold little tone, while materials like sawdust or carborundum hold a lot of tone, often creating a rich, velvety black.
