The Community Arts Coordinators will plan and execute collaborative printmaking events and projects on site and out in the community \u2013 advocating for the organization and fostering strong relationships.<\/span><b style=\"color: #415058; font-family: bookmania, serif; font-size: var(--font-size);\"><b style=\"color: #415058; font-family: bookmania, serif; font-size: var(--font-size);\"><\/b><\/b><\/p><p><strong>Specific duties and responsibilities will include:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Planning and executing events and activities<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coordinating volunteers and artists<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Managing materials, schedules, and allotted budgets<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Developing relationships with event partners<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting event marketing and promotions<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting collaborative printmaking projects\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to community outreach initiatives, the Community Arts Coordinator will support fundraising efforts and art sales. This may involve the creation of promotional materials, artwork, and art merchandise. The youth can also expect to gain insights into the day-to-day operations of a non-profit arts organization and will be encouraged to develop new initiatives and programs that serve artists, members and the larger community SNAP operates in.<\/span><\/p><h2><b>Art Gallery and Archive Assistant (1 position available)<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a leading center for printmaking and an integral part of the local Edmonton arts scene, SNAP\u2019s public gallery exhibits a diverse range of community group shows, emerging artists, and local\/national\/international professional artists. SNAP presents up to 12 exhibitions a year between our 2 public galleries. SNAP exhibits traditional printmaking practices as well as works that challenge the audience&#8217;s expectations of the art form. Additionally, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SNAP has been collecting, preserving, and archiving a permanent collection of fine art prints and works on paper over the past 42 years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Gallery and Archives Assistant will work closely with SNAP\u2019s staff to support the operations of the gallery and collections management. This position will involve directly working with Artists and handling Artwork. The Assistant will also be responsible for engaging with the general public and educating patrons about current exhibitions and our Archive collection.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Specific duties will include:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Artwork installation, de-installation, and packaging<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Working with tools, equipment, paint, and ladders<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintain and organizing gallery supplies<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accession, document, and digitize collected prints for the Archive<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Curate collections artwork for display and sale<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Engage with the public during open gallery hours.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, the youth can expect to gain insights into the day-to-day operations of a non-profit arts organization and lend support with other areas including the printshop, art sales, community outreach, and general maintenance duties.
