Join local artist and printmaker Lisa Matthias for this hands-on two-day workshop introducing the fundamentals of Mokuhanga. Renowned globally for its non-toxic, sustainable methods and distinct beauty, Mokuhanga is a unique and expressive method of contemporary woodblock printmaking with a rich history. Workshop participants will be guided through the process of designing, carving, and printing their own multi-colour artworks, leaving with a completed print series and carved woodblocks. Whether you’re new to printmaking or an experienced artist eager to explore a new approach, this workshop offers a rare chance for an inspiring introduction to the world of water based woodblock printmaking.

*No experience is necessary, this course is recommended for beginner and intermediate artists. All ability levels are encouraged to register.

Course Information

Age Requirements
For SNAP courses we ask that participants are 16 years of age and up. Registrants under the age of 18 require a liability waiver signed by a legal guardian. Please email [email protected] the name and age of any participants under the age of 18 and to obtain the necessary waiver form.

For any participants under the age of 16 who are interested in taking a course at SNAP, please be in touch with [email protected] and we may be able to accommodate if a parent/guardian is present with the under age participant.
