Etching with B.I.G (Baldwin Intaglio Ground)
Saturdays & Sundays, October 26 & 27 + November 2 & 3 2 Consecutive Weekends Instructor: Kate Baillies 10am – 5pm $365 SNAP members receive a 10% discount In-person workshop held at SNAP
Back by popular demand! After a workshop with Andrew Baldwin at Trefeglwys Printmaking in Wales this year, artist Kate Baillies is excited to share even more tips and methods of working with B.I.G. over two consecutive weekends!! The new formula is an even safer alternative to traditional asphaltum-solvent-based etching grounds. In this workshop, participants will explore this extremely versatile etching ground, discovering its potential to create the line, tone and texture qualities we love in Intaglio prints! As we are extending the workshop over two weekends, more time is allowed to explore both the etching and printing processes. Some previous experience with etching is recommended but not required.
Age Requirements For SNAP courses we ask that participants are 16 years of age and up. Registrants under the age of 18 require a liability waiver signed by a legal guardian. Please email [email protected] the name and age of any participants under the age of 18 and to obtain the necessary waiver form.
For any participants under the age of 16 who are interested in taking a course at SNAP, please be in touch with [email protected] and we may be able to accommodate if a parent/guardian is present with the under age participant.

SNAP is pleased to offer scholarship opportunities to individuals for whom the costs of printmaking courses are a barrier. SNAP scholarships are intended for artists and individuals who would otherwise be unable to access our courses but whose creative practice would benefit from the high quality instruction and technical skill building provided from taking a printmaking course at SNAP. SNAP printmaking classes and workshops are offered on a cost recovery basis and range in price based on materials and duration. A SNAP scholarship will cover the full cost of the course instruction and the basic material fee.
