In-person workshop held at SNAP

Explore B.I.G. as a safer alternative to traditional asphalt-solvent-based etching grounds from the artist who invented it! B.I.G. is a versatile etching ground developed by Andrew Baldwin of Trefeglwys Printmaking Studio (UK). B.I.G. has all the qualities etchers know and love about hard/soft ground – minus the VOCs. Plus it’s super-easy to use and incredibly versatile. The objective of this workshop is not only to teach safer alternatives but also to show how B.I.G. can be used in a multitude of ways including: alternative safer aquatints, introducing textures via the traditional impression and many others! Much of this will be explained at the Artist’s talk on 12th September. This workshop is recommended for students with prior experience in etching.
