The SNAP calendar is produced annually as a fundraising initiative in support of the Society of Northern Alberta Print-Artists. Founded in 1982 as a collective of Edmonton artists, SNAP is dedicated to supporting artistic practice in printmaking. SNAP maintains a permanent and dedicated space including public galleries and a printmaking studio, and provides comprehensive programming including: exhibitions, classes, workshops, lectures, artist’s residencies, and publishing.
The SNAP calendar is hand printed in the SNAP Printshop and each month features a print by an Edmonton-based artist. The artists used a combination of silkscreen, hand carved relief blocks, and letterpress elements for their images.
SNAP thanks the 12 artists who participated in this year’s calendar. Thank you to Andrew Benson and Hanna Dotzenroth for their work on the design of this calendar. Thank you to the Wingets for their generous assistance with trimming the calendar pages.
