2022 SNAP Calendar

Price: $60.00

The SNAP calendar is produced annually as a fundraising initiative in support of the Society of Northern Alberta Print-Artists. Founded in 1982 as a collective of Edmonton artists, SNAP is dedicated to supporting artistic practice in printmaking. SNAP maintains a permanent and dedicated space including public galleries and a printmaking studio, and provides comprehensive programming including: exhibitions, classes, workshops, lectures, artist’s residencies, and publishing. This year SNAP is celebrating 40 years of printmaking as we mark our 40th Anniversary in August of 2022!

The SNAP calendar is hand printed in the SNAP Printshop and each month features a print by an Edmonton-based artist. The artists used a combination of silkscreen, hand carved relief blocks, and letterpress elements for their images and the calendar portion was printed using polymer plates on the Vandercook and Challenge letterpresses as well as by screen printing using SNAP’s seri-glide vacuum table.

SNAP thanks the 12 artists who participated in this year’s calendar and for their specially designed month. A special thanks to Tahsina Ahmed, SNAP’s Calendar Collective Designer for imagining such an incredible calendar layout and design. Thank you to Brianna Tosswill for her expertise and support for printing the polymer plates. Thank you to the Wingets for their generous assistance with trimming the calendar pages.

SNAP respectfully acknowledges that we are located on the traditional lands, currently referred to as Treaty 6 Territory and that the City of Edmonton and all the people here are the intended beneficiaries of this peace and friendship treaty. Treaty 6 encompasses the traditional territories of numerous First Nations as well as the Métis people who have called this area home since time immemorial. SNAP is dedicated to ensuring that the spirit of Treaty 6 is honoured and respected through our governance, our values, and most importantly in our relations with artists and within our community.
