SNAP presents up to 12 exhibitions a year between our 2 public galleries. SNAP exhibits traditional printmaking practices as well as works that challenge the audience’s expectations of the art form. Additionally, SNAP has been collecting, preserving, and archiving a permanent collection of fine art prints and works on paper over the past 42 years. The Gallery & Archive Coordinator will work closely with SNAP’s staff to support the operations of the gallery and collections management. This position will involve directly working with Artists and handling Artwork. The Coordinator will also be responsible for engaging with the general public and educating patrons about current exhibitions and our Archive collection.Specific duties will include:Artwork installation, de-installation, and packagingWorking with tools, equipment, paint, and laddersMaintain and organizing gallery suppliesAccession, document, and digitize collected prints for the ArchiveCurate collections artwork for display and saleEngage with the public during open gallery hours.In addition, the youth can expect to gain insights into the day-to-day operations of a non-profit arts organization and lend support with other areas including the printshop, art sales, community outreach, and general maintenance duties. As a part of our team, they may work to develop new initiatives and programs that serve artists, members and the larger community SNAP operates in. Community Arts Coordinator Start date: May 12th, 2025End Date: July 12th, 2025Contract Length: 9 weeks Hrs/ week: 30 hrs/week (270 hours total)Rate of Pay: $19/hr plus 4% vacation payAs a community-focused arts organization, SNAP is committed to connecting with new and diverse audiences. The Community Arts Coordinators will plan and execute collaborative printmaking events and projects on site and out in the community – advocating for the organization and fostering strong relationships.Specific duties and responsibilities will include:Planning and executing events and activitiesCoordinating volunteers and artistsManaging materials, schedules, and allotted budgetsDeveloping relationships with event partnersSupporting event marketing and promotionsSupporting collaborative printmaking projects In addition to community outreach initiatives, the Community Arts Coordinator will support fundraising efforts and art sales. This may involve the creation of promotional materials, artwork, and art merchandise. The youth can also expect to gain insights into the day-to-day operations of a non-profit arts organization and will be encouraged to develop new initiatives and programs that serve artists, members and the larger community SNAP operates in. Experience and Qualifications : How to Apply: An understanding of artist-run culture, and familiarity with visual arts & culture organizations and the not-for-profit sector.An introductory knowledge of contemporary art, art history, and specific skills or interest in printmaking.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience collaborating or working productively with others. Attention to detail and an ability to identify priorities and move projects forward without direct supervision.Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Mac operating systems, Google Suite and the Adobe Creative Suite These positions have been created through funding from the Canada Summer Jobs initiative as supported by The Government of Canada.
