She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia Art and Design University, and is currently completing her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Alberta. Through print-media, installation, and textiles her work explores the narratives, identities, and grief that are ingrained in our material worlds through inherited objects. Outside of her studio practice, Deedman embeds herself in community work/care through many non-profits and artist run centres and is an advocate for creating safe and accessible spaces for communities who are looking to find wellness through the act of making.
