Billy Marshall

Billy Marshall is an Edmonton based artist, who was born and raised in Fort McMurray. There she received her Art and Design Certificate from Keyano College. She completed her BFA at the University of Alberta in December 2019. She has been in a variety of shows, including Anthropocities in 2018 and Nocturne in 2019. She has worked as a print technician assistant at both SNAP and the U of A. She has taken a hiatus since the completion of her degree and is hoping to re- enter the Edmonton art scene despite the pandemic. Her work focuses on how social environments affect identity and exploring the psychological impact of violence. Through humor, sarcasm and narrative elements, she explores her own anxieties and how they affect her relations to those around her and herself. Common elements include zoomorphic metaphors, houses with all the lights on, coffee at 10 pm, utilizing paper as background and enjoying herself through it all.
