SNAP invites you to step through a portal into miniature worlds constructed by Heather Huston in her exhibition, Shift. Huston’s work combines the second and third dimension by interlacing prints with constructed models of domestic spaces. These spaces interfere with each other and intend to collapse the viewers’ sense of time. With each structure a scenario is created from the viewers memory, while delicate animation develops a presence within the pieces. A light turns on; a small window opens and closes, each motion adding to the narrative created within each piece. Huston’s work is intended to trigger life’s un-easiness, the nervous moments when our imagination carries us away and we reflect on experiences from our past.

Opening Reception: April 24, 7–9 pm.

SNAP is happy to provide this programming at no cost to participants.
