This exhibit will jolt your senses with a combination of unconventional colour combinations composing an all-over fresco reminiscent of the worst (best) of the 80’s. Pulling inspiration from Greco-Roman ornamentation, Liberace and Baroque-Kitsch, Petrin’s Silkscreen prints will be pasted to the walls of SNAP to immerse the viewer in an environment which is artificial, unsettling and reaping with excess. Dominique Pétrin has participated in Baie-Saint-Paul’s 29th Symposium of Contemporary Art and at the Québec Triennial at the Museum of Contemporary Art, in 2011. In 2012, she exhibited at ARPRIM, Lʼoeil de Poisson, and Axenéo7, which included a 4 week residency. She is a multidisciplinary artist who’s efforts extend beyond fine art into music as a member of the group Les George Leningrade. Opening Reception: January 16, 7–9 pm. SNAP is happy to provide this programming at no cost to participants. We hope you will consider making a donation to keep programs accessible in the future. Donate
