This series of prints explores the relationships of neurological disorders that effect the motor coordination needed for everyday tasks. The abstract prints created through a variety of printmaking and collage methods, reflects the relationship of digital mark making versus the fluid lines generated by motor skills. Drawing from found and collaborative imagery, the elements of these pieces are digitally rendered and combined with organically drawn lines and textures. Shawn Reynar produces work that is a balance between spontaneity and control, which demonstrates the struggle and determination involved with such ailments. Recently receiving his Master of Fine Arts in printmaking from Concordia University, Reynar has been recognized with various awards and grants for his print based work including a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Grant and a John B. Aird Award for printmaking. His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Canada and the United States. Opening Reception: August 15, 7–9 pm. SNAP is happy to provide this programming at no cost to participants. We hope you will consider making a donation to keep programs accessible in the future. Donate
