In the Community Gallery, SNAP presents Commotion from photographer and visual artists Zachary Ayotte. In this series of photographs, the artist’s camera is the sole witness to a performance of a collaborative movement piece depicting an exploration of power struggles. Ayotte has captured suggestive narratives, which depicts how individuals overcome forces that create unfavorable power dynamics, and how fight and flight reflexes can work to over power a variety of struggles. Zachary has exhibited work in Canada, Spain and the United Kingdom. In 2012, he helped self-publish At the Same Time, a book that marked the end of a three-year collaborative project with five other artists. He currently lives in Edmonton, AB.

Opening Reception: September 12, 7-9 pm.
