Printmaking as Resistance
SNAP is pleased to present the first of our year-long new programming: Professional Practice Seminar Series: Printmaking In the Expanded Field.
Professional Practice Seminar Series: Printmaking In The Expanded Field is a series of three, multi-day, deep dive seminars for visual artists. This programming is meant to support and advance the professional artistic practices of artists across varying communities in amiskwaciwâskahikan/ Edmonton. The seminar series explores printmaking and print-media within the larger context of contemporary art, with a focus on research and production. Each seminar will bring together participating local artists and visiting artists, both internationally and from across Canada. Through collaborative learning, artists will develop critical discourse, examination, and new knowledge around a central theme. The full series runs from October 2020 to September 2021.
Join us in the first iteration of SNAP’s Professional Practice Seminar Series: Printmaking In the Expanded Field for “Printmaking as Resistance”. During this first professional development seminar, we will look at print’s relationship to resistance through a historical, embodied and technical lens. Facilitated by Dylan AT Miner, Liuba Gonzalez de Armas and Laura Grier and featuring an artist talk by Amos Paul Kennedy Jr.
