Explore ways of expanding traditional woodblock printmaking with Artist Madison Dewar. Learn various carving techniques, how to mix inks, and create reductive layers. This introductory six-week class will instruct you on how to print single and multiple colour reductive images using the printing press. This course will prepare you with the skills necessary to create your own prints and to independently use the presses at SNAP. Participants should bring a selection of drawings, images, or photographs to work from.
*No experience is necessary, this class is recommended for beginner and intermediate artists.

Individuals who have registered for a class or workshop at SNAP but are unable to attend are required to give written notice emailed to: [email protected] 7 days in advance of the course start date to receive a full refund. Registrants who cancel with 6 or less days notice will receive 50% of their registration fee. After the course has begun SNAP is unable to issue a refund or offer makeup classes for any days missed. Courses are run on a narrow cost recovery basis and are subject to a minimum enrolment in order to run. If SNAP cancels a course due to low enrolment, notice will be given at least 5 days in advance and a full refund will be issued.
