Explore relief printing from textiles with Visiting Exhibiting Artist & the Banff Centre’s Print & Paper Facilitator Wendy Tokaryk. This one-day workshop will explore printmaking as contemporary craft; textiles will be used as the matrices for the design and printing of relief prints. Using examples of Tokaryk’s prints from the exhibition in SNAP’s main gallery Doilies (the meaning of life) each participant will build their own unique composition. Textiles such as lace, doilies, crochet will be provided for participants to choose from and participants may also bring their own textiles to work with. Colorful inks will be applied to the textiles using brayers and printed on the etching presses to create intriguing and interesting prints.
*Please feel free to bring any textiles to use to print with. Prints will be ready for pick up by August 9th in the Printshop.
