Artist Myken McDowell will teach you how to create photopolymer plates using digital processes and how to handprint rich tonalities, textures and depth for your photographic images. Use SNAP’s Digital Lab and learn how to alter and prepare your images for film positive output as well as how to translate the image for a photopolymer plate. Become knowledgeable in this intaglio photo technique so you can continue to create stunning images using both traditional and digital methods. Print on japanese papers and chine collé your final images using SNAP’s etching presses. *Participants can send an image by May 27th, more information regarding specifics will be given at the time of registration.
*It is recommended that participants have some previous experience in printmaking such as in intaglio processes (basic experience with plate inking, wiping and/or press operation)
