In this hands-on class learn all about letterpress by printing on SNAP’s Vandercook and Challenge cylinder proofing presses to create multi-layer prints by carving linoleum and combining your images with metal and wood type. Artist Catherine Kuzik will teach you how to print your own hand-carved relief images and text to create some fabulous large posters and prints. You will learn fresh approaches to registration, mixing ink, typesetting, kerning, proofing, and printing. This course is open to beginners and those with letterpress experience who want to expand on their skills.

*Participants are invited to bring a selection of drawings, text or images to work from.

Cancellation Policy:

Individuals who have registered for a class or workshop at SNAP but are unable to attend are required to give written (email) notice to SNAP 7 days in advance of the course start date to receive a full refund. Registrants who cancel with 6 or less days notice will receive 50% of their registration fee. After the course has begun SNAP is unable to issue a refund or offer makeup classes for any days missed. Courses are run on a narrow cost recovery basis and are subject to a minimum enrolment in order to run. If SNAP cancels a course due to low enrolment, notice will be given at least 5 days in advance and a full refund will be issued.
