Learn the basics of etching aluminum plates in copper sulphate during this weekend workshop in Electrochemical Etching. Artist Daniel Evans will instruct you in how to mix and safely dispose of the copper sulphate mordant and the basic skills of plate preparation, various line etch techniques and to experiment with aluminum’s capacity of a natural aquatint. Participants will work with a variety of inexpensive everyday materials to use as resists to explore mark making. Create imagery with bigger and bolder lines when working with electrochemical etching. This workshop is ideal for beginners as well as artists who already have etching experience.
