Learn this popular printmaking technique, which can transform any drawing into graphic and colourful prints, from the comfort of your own home. This at home course is your chance to learn how to make stencils, mix custom inks, register layered images, and screen print your final images onto paper. Artist Erica Vaskevicius will guide you through instructional interactive demonstrations to set you up for success as well as give an inside look at how to use SNAP’s screen printing facilities. Students will create a colourful one-layer screen print using screen monotype techniques for their first exploration. Afterwards learn how to create intricate hand-cut stencils as well as how to register and print multi-colour images. During this three week online course you will come away with 2 final print projects, a print exchange with your fellow classmates, and the chance to have your screens exposed with your own hand-made stencils to print with for the rest of the summer.

Supplies are required for this class, but alternative and DIY methods are wonderful options if you wish to learn and participate at home regardless of your budget. Please be in touch for options and alternatives so we can make your participation a success.

*Please note this class is for creating screen prints onto paper and does not include instruction in printing on fabrics.

*No experience is necessary, this class is recommended for beginner and intermediate artists. All ability levels are encouraged to register.

Note: All online sessions will be recorded to capture the demonstration and will be sent to registered participants so they can view and rewatch at their leisure after the session.
