Enjoy a follow up workshop and the opportunity to learn advanced skills in papermaking during this one-day workshop for individuals who have existing papermaking experience. Learn how to breakdown linters in the Hollander Beater and blender. Choose a fibre and from a selection of various sizes of moulds and deckles to make an edition of paper using the Western Style of papermaking. Afterwards explore the process of Oriental Papermaking; learn how to cook kozo and gampi fibres, about the hand-beating process, and how to pull fine, long fibre, strong sheets of paper. At the end of the day simple paper casting processes will be introduced. Must have previous papermaking experience or have taken the Beginner Workshop.

*Please bring 4 large towels, 40 – 60 pieces of 100% Cotton Sheets (cut larger than mould and deckle choice), an apron; all other supplies provided. SNAP will arrange carpooling between participants to go to the Multicraft Studio at St. Albert Place, St. Albert. Selection of Mould and Deckle sizes will be given at the time of registration.

Cancellation Policy:

Individuals who have registered for a class or workshop at SNAP but are unable to attend are required to give written (email) notice to SNAP 7 days in advance of the course start date to receive a full refund. Registrants who cancel with 6 or less days notice will receive 50% of their registration fee. After the course has begun SNAP is unable to issue a refund or offer makeup classes for any days missed. Courses are run on a narrow cost recovery basis and are subject to a minimum enrolment in order to run. If SNAP cancels a course due to low enrolment, notice will be given at least 5 days in advance and a full refund will be issued.
