Holly de Moissac

Artist in Residence
2015/2016

Holly de Moissac is a visual artist whose work focuses on societal understandings of decay and its expression within the human body. Influenced by access to ephemeral and transient philosophies from a young age, her practice is driven by the consideration of temporal realities in a permanence-seeking culture. By creating encounters between individuals and physically deconstructed bodies or spaces, her goal is to provide viewers with an opportunity to converse with temporal aspects of the human condition that do not receive necessary dialogue. Her recent work also explores the use of narrative and book arts in documenting intimate experiences with decay. Holly attended the University of Alberta, graduating in 2013 with a BFA in Art & Design, focused in painting and printmaking.
