Brittney Roy

Artist in Residence
2013/2014

Brittney Roy is a visual artist that works various mediums including printmaking, digital photography, video and sound. Her current practice revolves around fragmentation of “normal” personal experiences. She is fascinated with the strange in the familiar.

Born and raised in northern Alberta just outside the small town of High Prairie she lived in the country for a big part of her childhood. In the year 2000 her and her family picked up and moved to Edmonton, Alberta where she currently resides. This shift in surroundings has become a prominent tool in her exploration of personal boundaries.

In the Spring of 2012 Roy completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Alberta with a major in Printmaking and Drawing. Currently she works as Programming Manager at Harcourt House Artist Run Centre. Looking to expand her individual art practice in Edmonton she continues to develop ideas through her own experiences, the observation of others and working in collaboration with other artists and disciplines.
